A poor but brilliant Chinese woman (Li Sun), disguised as a boy, joins the railroad crew in the Rocky Mountains to search for her long-lost father, and falls in love with the son of the railroad tycoon. This is Peter O’Toole’s final film, and a moving depiction of the stunning hardships faced by Chinese immigrants a century ago.
