The Starlite Room Proudly Presents…

Formed in early 2014, NECK OF THE WOODS’ exhilarating brand of progressive metal and charged live shows have quickly earned them a reputation as one of the most exciting acts to emerge from Vancouver’s metal scene.

The group’s complex and dynamic sound along with their resonating live performances helped the band quickly rise to prominence. With the release of their self-titled EP in 2015 NECK OF THE WOODS took to the road making appearances at multiple Canadian festivals. Summer 2016 saw them accompany metalcore legends Misery Signals on the Canadian leg of their 2016 tour as well as embarking on their own tour of Western Canada. It didn’t take long for NECK OF THE WOODS to catch the eye of U.K label Basick Records who welcomed them to their roster in spring 2017. Performing in support of major touring acts has become a well-rehearsed routine for the band. From warming the stage for CONVERGE at Sled Island Music & Arts Festival to directly supporting EVERY TIME I DIE, the group has established themselves with a high energy performance that is not to be missed.

Their debut album 'The Passenger' has sparked debate amongst metal aficionados across the globe, its diverse sound defies categorization while delivering a blend of aggressive attitude, emotive expression, progressive intellect and modern flair.

Planet Eater hails from western region of Canada, in Regina Saskatchewan. Living in the middle of a giant expanse of desolate land, the seasons are extreme and the living conditions harsh. The cold, dark months of the long winter sets the stage for five brothers to craft a brutal and harsh sound patiently tempered into the sound of Planet Eater. With no preconceptions of success or riches we write music that we want to hear, that remind us of the bands that once walked the earth and breathed the fire of metal into our minds. Canadian greats such as Strapping Young Lad and Katakylsm are blended with international legends, Gorjira, Red Fang, Meshuggah, Converge and Morbid Angel to name a few. Planet Eater strives to play a tight and heavy set and to have a visually exciting performance at all times. Our first release was a six song EP in October of 2014 which has been met with intriguing amount of international acclaim. We look forward to 2015 with festivals, shows and a full length album in the works. Join the hordes in support of one of Canada's newest Death Thrash bands.
