The Amiskwaciy History Series proudly presents:

They welcomed them with blankets, tea and tears: Healing
the harms of Indian Residential Schools by Harold Robinson.

Harold is a Metis lawyer from Edmonton. Harold
adjudicated Indian Residential School claims for twelve
years from 2004 to 2016. Understanding the nature of
the Indian Residential School Program and its impacts
is critical to healing the ongoing harms. Join Harold as
he shares his perspective about Indian Residential
Schools, perseverance, hope; and the role we all play
in building a better future, together.

Please join us for an evening of learning at Eastglen High School's theatre (11430-68 Street) on February 22 from 6:30pm-8:30pm. Light refreshments will be provided.

— Amiskwaciy History Series is a new Indigenous grassroots initiative
aimed at creating awareness regarding the often-untold
Indigenous history of the Edmonton area. The name Amiskwaciy
comes from Amiskwaciy Waskahikan or “Beaver Hill House”, a
Cree term used to describe the area now known as Edmonton.

Through free monthly educational sessions, the Amiskwaciy History Series strives to provide accessible and culturally appropriate education to the public on Indigenous history as lived and told by the people.
