Join us in collaboration with Slow Food Edmonton, as Kaelin from The Ruby Apron teaches a sourdough workshop. A light lunch, and recipe pack included. Money from the event will be split between Slow Food Edmonton and Real Bread Edmonton to be put back into our community. In this two hour workshop, you will learn how to start a sourdough starter, how to maintain it, and how to make sourdough. We will talk through sourcing ingredients, and the important roll that ingredients have on sourdough baking. We will also talk in detail about the equipment needed, as well as the variables that can affect sourdough baking. You will have the opportunity to see the dough at each stage, and will get to take starter home with you. The goal of this workshop is to inspire people to get into the kitchen and make their own bread, to understand how cost effective it is to make your own bread, and of course see the benefits of real bread versus commercial bread.
