Mercury Room Yeg presents…
Sunday August 20th
Desiree Dorion with Curt Young
Desiree Dorion's fourth studio album, «Tough Street» is a beautiful and humble homage to her upbringing. This is her most personal and honest work yet. The album compiles «darkly beautiful and introspective songs...[her] best recorded vocals yet,» (Bruce Leperre, 730 CKDM). Her first single from the album, «Whiskey Knows» was released to radio across Canada on March 6th, 2017. The entire album is available now at all digital media outlets.
Dorion's latest release, «Small Town Stories,» garnered her some hard earned attention. The album received nominations at the 2014 JUNO Awards, 2014 WCMA's and 2014 & 2013 Aboriginal Peoples Choice Music Awards.
Honesty, emotion, and work ethic are some of the defining attributes of Dorion. These coupled with her gift for songwriting, and her versatile voice (at times reminiscent of greats like Dolly Parton) are what sets this country crooner apart.
