During this training we will learn the art of Restorative yoga through both discussion and practice. The weekend module will provide an understanding of the nervous system, endocrine system and energy body and how restorative yoga can create balance in our sympathetically tuned lifestyles. During deep relaxation, all the organ systems of the body are benefited through the rest and digest cycle of the parasympathetic nervous system improving: blood pressure, digestion, fertility, insomnia, adrenal fatigue, muscle tension an more. Upon completion, participants will be able to create, practice and guide Restorative Yoga practices.

Students will understand the: neurological, psychological, physical effects of chronic stress on the body
Students will understand the modern perspective of mind body states, mental health and stress in addition to the Yogic perspectives on mental states and stress.
Students will learn the basic restorative postures and learn the techniques for prop placement, verbal cuing, time and gentle adjustments.
Students will become familiar with Yoga Nidra and progressive relaxation techniques
Students will learn the various Pranayama techniques, how to instruct them and how they caneither stimulate or relax the body.
Students will understand the importance of creating a safe and nurturing environment.

This course may be used towards Empowered Yoga 500Hr and 800Hr certification or 25 CEUs with Yoga Alliance
