The Chaturanga yoga pose is a commonly used “transition pose” that represents the potential for change in us all. Join us on Sunday, August 13, and be a part of this change.
Every night in Edmonton more than 2300 people have no safe space to call home. As many as 60% of these individuals have mental health challenges. Based in our city’s beautiful river valley, Making Strides is a program working to alleviate this hardship by providing long-term courses of mental health therapy to Edmonton’s inner city and homeless community members. The Chaturanga for Change event will help to fund this program.
Chaturanga for Change is a yoga-by-donation and outdoor art gallery event that will take place on the grassy expanse at Borden Park on the morning of August 13th. Heather and I will be leading an all-levels class with some story time, and Street Photographer, Jerry Cordeiro, will host an art gallery that will provoke thought, emotion, and inspiration.
Join us for a morning of yoga, art, conversation, and community in support of mental health for one of Edmonton’s most vulnerable populations. Be a part of our Chaturanga for Change.
Doors open at 9AM. Official welcome with City Counsellor Scott McKeen at 10AM. Yoga class at 10:30-11:45AM.
