The Chaturanga yoga pose is a commonly used “transition pose” that represents the potential for change in us all. Join us at Borden Park on Sunday, August 13, and be a part of this change.
Every night in Edmonton more than 2300 people have no safe space to call home. As many as 60% of these individuals have mental health challenges. Based in our city’s beautiful river valley, Making Strides is a program working to alleviate this hardship by providing long-term courses of mental health therapy to Edmonton’s inner city and homeless community members. The Chaturanga for Change event will help to fund this program.
Chaturanga for Change is a yoga-by-donation and outdoor art gallery event that will take place on the morning of August 13th. Brandon Jacobs (Moksha Yoga) and Heather Gazley (Heather Gazley Yoga) will lead the yoga class, and Street Photographer, Jerry Cordeiro, will host an art gallery that will provoke thought, emotion, and inspiration.
Join us for a morning of yoga, art, conversation, and community in support of mental health for one of Edmonton’s most vulnerable populations. Be a part of our Chaturanga for Change.
Doors open at 9AM. Official welcome with City Counsellor Scott McKeen at 10AM. Yoga class at 10:30-11:45AM.
